Business focus to the weather

Formed by two former forecasters from the Bureau of Meteorology, MeteoLogic Pty Ltd was created to bridge the gap between the science of the weather and the operational needs of weather-dependent businesses. Founding directors Matt Saunderson and Craig Mitchell are bringing to life their vision of a company dedicated to delivering weather forecasts and data in a responsive and client-focused manner.

Unique combination of skills
Both founding partners have Science degrees and post-graduate qualifications in Meteorology from the Bureau of Meteorology. Both have tertiary qualifications in Information Technology and extensive experience in delivering operational, real-time weather services to clients.

Matt brings recent commercial and project management experience, having designed and implemented numerous tailored weather services for clients. He also has considerable IT development and project management experience, having recently been part of a team delivering a complete weather modelling and forecasting system in the Middle East. A former Services Development Executive in the Bureau of Meteorology, Matt is experienced in designing and delivering tools to meet the weather needs of users, whether they are Bureau of Meteorology forecasters or business clients in the mining, energy, construction or related fields.

Craig has a body of knowledge about Australian weather and climate that is the envy of many. He has worked in the Bureau of Meteorology as an operational forecaster in Darwin, Perth and Brisbane over the last 15 years and as Senior Meteorologist in the Brisbane Regional Forecasting Centre for the last 5 years. His broad experience with weather systems includes thunderstorms, tropical cyclones, heat waves and cold spells, as well as all aspects of aviation forecasting. Craig is experienced in delivering weather services for all types of weather, drawing on his depth of knowledge and understanding of weather systems and their impacts.
